Upcoming contemporary art exhibition by Tala Madani will be at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, September 10, 2022.

Here are a trio of Madani’s recent oil paintings, though I do not know if they will be in the upcoming museum show.

Iranian painter, Tala Madani will be exhibiting at a wing of MOCA with the sponsorship of Farhan Foundation, their stated mission: “Farhang Foundation is a member-supported, non-religious, non-political, not-for-profit organization established in 2008 to celebrate and promote Iranian art and culture for the benefit of the community-at-large.”

It is kinda of hard to see how these works are a benefit to anyone, and it they pretty much scream the long and noble history of Iranian civilization has come to a shitty end.

It was interesting to look at the Board of Trustees 2021-2022 of MOCA, two interesting names come up:

Heather Podesta, a Washington lobbyist, ex-wife of Tony Podesta of the Podesta Group, also a Washington lobbyist with connections to Ukraine.

And Jeffrey Soros, son of Paul Soros and nephew to George Soros. Paul founded Soros Associates, which “now operates in 91 countries around the world.” Wikipedia. And the famous George Soros reportedly has ties to the CIA, reported by LewRockwell.com . Jeffrey Soros is Co-CEO of the Los Angeles Media Fund, film producer, and serves(ed) on the board of the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship Program.

You would think these extraordinarily wealthy and connected people would have some taste, and not be associated with such pathetic art. Which brings up two issues: One, is that their presence on MOCA’s board has zero to do with art, but has some covert agenda. Two, that the art they associate with is a deeply held reflection of themselves, that they and significant world players are essentially disgusting and shitty people.
